Vampire Diaries Season Premiere

... I don't remember the season finale much, but wasn't Damon, like, dying? Wasn't that the major cliffhanger? Did they, you know, explain what happened there and I just missed it? Never mind, it's been explained to me.

As soon as we saw Bonnie on the goddamn television screen talking about her father's family, I knew no good could come of this. Please tell me this is a case of the actress being unavailable, and not being sidelined.

I am so glad Alaric's gone (apparently), but I am actually still laughing over "I am the chaperone teacher from hell."

I've never been a serious Stefan/Damon 'shipper - until now. The agony Stefan's putting himself through for his brother? Tasty.

Meanwhile, how is no one talking about the new season of Top Chef: Just Desserts? The latest episode was fantastic.

Stefan traded himself away to Klaus in order to get the cure for Damon (which ended up being Klaus' blood).
Oh! Okay. I did remember Stefan had sacrificed himself but I forgot that it was for that specifically. Thanks!
No problem! And it just feeds right back into the Stefan-Damon angst.

AFAIK Bonnie is still part of the show.

I really wish this would end with a Stefan/Elena/Damon threesome, but I know the show will never go there.

But not really, is the thing. None of the other teens disappear for chunks of episodes with some kind of lame explanation about how they're traveling or visiting family or whatever. And they didn't treat Bonnie this way in the early episodes. It's so annoying.

I .. have no real interest in Stefan/Elena so I can't say I'm hoping for a threesome, even in theory. I've said before that I think each character is at his/her most boring when with the other. Sigh.

Tyler ran away to FL for several eps, and I don't think Matt, Caroline, or Jeremy are in all the the eps either. I definitely think KW needs to do a better job of casting more minorities, but I don't think he's sidelined Bonnie any more than any of the other supporting characters. JMHO.

I wish this too. ♥ That's the true pairing of my heart on TVD. I like them best as a trio. They just WORK together, imo, all balancing each other.
Any DES or other TVD fic recs? My two favorite shows right now are TVD and White Collar, but unfortunately I've only found a few fic authors in those fandoms I like.

ETA - Yay! *going to read your fics* :)

The actress who plays Bonnie is the only one with an ongoing career outside TVD, I think. That makes me think it might be availability issues. but idk.

I've always been a serious Stefan/Damon shipper, because that's how I roll. but yeeeees. I love the big sacrifice. Especially since it's a day to day, continuous thing -- even more more meaningful than a one-time gesture.

I'm addicted to Top Chef but I've never seen the Desserts spin off. That good, huh?

Well, I'm not into reality shows - I never watch them. I'm just into desserts. And for someone who's into desserts, it's terrific fun. I can't really speak to whether it's fun for someone who's into the reality show aspect.
I don't watch any other reality TV -- just for some reason my sister got me into Top Chef (maybe because it feels like an authentic competition that's judged seriously, where the judges talk specifically about why something works/doesn't work, and they have only minimal inclusion of any interpersonal dramatics). So if you like Desserts but don't like reality tv, maybe I'll give it a shot. :)
